To ensure the safety of all occupants and users of a premises it is vital that they have a fully functional fire alarm system. This fire alarm will act as a life protection system that will alert occupants of a property that a Pre-warning or a fire alarm activation has been triggered. This gives occupants adequate time to safely exit the property. We have a range of fire alarms available to suit all purposes. We design Fire alarm systems as requested to IS-3218-2013 standards

Addressable Fire Alarm System:

Analogue addressable fire alarm systems: These are advanced, very reliable detection systems. Exact fire location is determined immediately as each individual detector has a unique address to show its exact position. False alarms are reduced, and real alarms detected at a very early stage. Devices are zoned in accordance with layout of building. Addressable fire alarm systems are designed for multiple occupancy residential properties and large commercial and industrial premises. Fire alarm cabling is wired as a loop or multiple loops depending on size of property. Repeater fire alarm control panels can be required in different locations in large properties. Fire alarm panels can be networked. In addressable fire alarm systems devices will each have its own individual code address. If an activation goes off It will display this information on the front of the fire alarm panel with the correct location text. All detection devices can have its sensitivity levels checked on the fire alarm system control panel. Additional devices can be connected to addressable fire alarms systems such as an I/O device. This can connect any device to the system or an adjoining fire panel. I/O modules can trigger a smoke ventilation system or an intruder alarm for monitoring purposes. Fire alarm engineers have special equipment to program these systems.

Conventional Fire Alarm System:

This is the usual choice for very small systems or where budget constraints apply. Conventional systems have been around for many years, and are very, dependable. All the intelligence resides within the control panel. Detectors and break glass units are connected together on a single run of cable for each zone. When the panel detects a resistance change, through activation of a detector or call point, a zone goes into fire and the sounders or bells are triggered. Wiring: Fire alarms must be wired in fire resistant cable I.E Fireturf cable or Equivalent.

Wireless Fire Alarm Systems:

Installing wireless fire alarm systems can be a cost-effective method of obtaining protection in a building where hard wiring cannot be achieved or causing too much disruption. Wireless fire alarm system will work on radio frequency between control panel and detection and warning devices in accordance with is Irish Standards 3218 2013 all buildings are required to have their fire alarm systems inspected and all devices checked at least once per year. In occupied buildings it is a requirement to have a fire alarm serviced every quarter. This type of system is most suitable for listed buildings where wiring will not be allowed Benefits of a fire alarm maintenance contract with Corrib Fire and Security are as follows

1)   Emergency callout facility

2)   On call engineers 24 hrs a day 365 day a year

3)   Scheduled fire alarm service inspections to standards IS 3218 2013

4)   2hr response time for emergency calls (Contracts only) Depending on location

5)   Certificates after each inspection carried out
